The beginning of a new era has begun. Let's not be negative already. Let's not lose hope and faith so quickly without giving President-elect Obama. Let's not make rash statements of cynicism, pessimism, or prejudice already.
We are not soothsayers. We do not know whether our new leadership will bring about change good or bad. What qualifies any of us to make claims such as,"Obama is the biggest mistake" or "your choice was ignorant"? Many of us have not lived long enough to see true disparity and suffering to judge what is truly "a big mistake". And none of us are capable of seeing the future of our world tomorrow, let alone 4 years from now. If we could, life would be better for all.
All that's left is to be optimistic and find ways to move towards that better future that we envision and so often is promised to us. So please stop the negativity. Make not brash, baseless statements but make promises to yourself that you will do something good for us all. Stop fighting against what you think you hate and start fighting for what you believe.
To those in celebration, the time is now to make sure you do as we have said and "Change". And celebrate tonight, because come January 20, 2009, it's time to get to work.
Have a good night and a pleasant tomorrow.

All rational answers will be awarded with a "Okay then".
To make it easier, let's take the "homosexuality will be taught to kids in school" right off the table. We all know that's bullcrap. Come on, seriously. We know. I or none of my close friends had marriage taught in school. The only marriage lesson we got was who married Adolf Hitler. Heck, I barely got sex education...which might explain a lot. Ehhhhh. Catholic schools don't count because they're not state funded.
I'm really curious and looking forward to the answers, be them zany or not.

There must be at least one high school kid with good intentions but bad word choice that blurted out "Prop 8 is gay!"
Before the homecoming game, some Prop 8 supporters were picketing in front of USC. With them were several children likely under the age of 7. I don't think you should be allowed to picket if your primary concerns in life are "where should I hide this booger" and "yes! Dora's on! Now where did I hide that booger?"
People still think Obama is a socialist. They also think he's Muslim. The only thing that the McCain camp seems to have gotten right is that he's black.
The rich like McCain. The super-rich like Obama. But then the evil super-rich(Rupert Murdoch) like McCain.
So who do you side with? The guy who owns 2 Hyundai-Saab dealerships and a car wash in Richmond or Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Eric Schmidt, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett.
Ben & Jerry's is offering a free scoop to everyone who votes tomorrow. Time to pull out the old fake mustache, top hat, and monocle collection.
Do you find people who use ampersands regularly in normal writing to be obnoxious? Would you find it more obnoxious if they used in normal conversation? ;)
Can you believe she's a stand-up comedian?!
I imagine:
In 20 years, the fight against gay marriage will be looked back on as we look back on the opposition of minority civil rights and women's rights. (though why women are still voting boggles me<--just joshing)
In 50 years, we will look back on the way we treat animals and be shocked by the barbaric and uncouth nature of it all.
In 75 years, we will be scratch our heads confused as to why world hunger, which could so easily be solved, wasn't.
In 80 years, I will reign supreme over Denmark and Azerbaijan after finding the key to eternal life in the spice melange.
In 100 years, viable renewable energy will be the norm and hybrid cars will not suck dingus.
In 110 years, Tupac will release another album.
