You've officially joined the likes of the Plain White T's "Hey There Delilah" and Linkin Park's EVERYTHING.
I never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever want to hear "I Kissed a Girl" again. The mystique of two women kissing has been ruined thanks to your overplayed song. Next time you kiss someone, keep it to yourself.

To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep,
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep, perchance to dream—ay, there's the rub:
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
Shakespeare, Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, Shel Silverstein. These are just some of the names that people associate with poetry. All their poems embody universal themes of love, humor, fear....well, I suppose human emotions. To this day, the works of William Shakespeare are taught. But for most, the ideas of romanticism,fear, and social commentary within these poets' works do not strike a chord within our hearts. A high school student reciting Shakespeare is merely paying lip service to the Great Bard.
There is a a form of poetry in our age that speaks to the masses. It speaks of the problems of our society and the fears and loves in our lives. Now all my English professors would say I'm blaspehmous for this, but look at Lupe Fiasco's music. He is a true poet, but his poetry isn't given the credit it deserves because of the stigma still behind rap music. In his song, "Dumb It Down," he even criticizes the state of art he is in. But once again it is the negative spotlight that is placed on rap music. Look back to the 1990's. Tupac Shakur wrote poetry to a beat, but the media labeled him as a "gangster". Despicable.
Maybe years from now, children will be reciting the works of Lupe Fiasco. Who knows. One thing I do know is, "that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." And poetry by any other name is just as sweet.
How did Timbaland get the billing for the song Apologize. I saw OneRepublic perform that song live 2 years prior. I know this is old news, but it has been bugging me. Just because he added an extra, "Eh, eh." and some polishing on the track, he gets the credit?! Bull-crap!
